
Considering all the time spent and the privacy demanded, bedrooms have to be designed with utmost care. Good designers consider the preferences, lifestyle and personal needs of the owner of the room.
Space management, correct placement of fixtures and furniture, right colour scheme, co-ordinated lighting, proper ventilation, balancing the beams and columns is all what is needed for creating cosy and comfortable vibes in your bedroom.
Following are few tips to help you design bedrooms as per Vaastu:
• The master bedroom should always be located
in the Southwest part of the house.
• The connecting bathroom is suggested to be in the western part of the south western bedroom.
• Headrest in North is a complete No-No as per Vaastu Shastra, the southern head rest being considered best of all.
• The children shall be provided Eastern bedrooms.
• Sleeping with head in the east improves knowledge and increases interest in spiritualism. Students should always sleep with head in the east.
• The north- west area of the house is ideal for designing a guest room.
• In case of Duplex ,Bungalows and houses the South western rooms on different floors can be used by parents and elderly children who are well settled in their lives.
• It is always suggested that the elder person stays on the higher floor.
• There should not be any beam crossing over the bed. In case it exists, proper rectification should be done immediately otherwise the physical and emotional health can be affected.
• The heavy furniture should be on the South/west wall.
• The construction material for the bed should be the wood and the wrought iron beds should be avoided.
• Few people are obsessed with electronic gadgets; ideally such gadgets should be placed at a distance from the bed as the Electro- magnetic waves emitted by them interfere with the sleep.
• There should not be any mirror in front of the bed especially towards your feet.
• The dressing-table in the bedroom should be kept either in East or North direction.
• It is better to use a single piece double bed mattress instead of using two single ones for maintaining better relation between married couples.
• The door of the bedroom should always open smooth and never produce a creaking sound.
• Be very careful while selecting paintings and art-effects for the bedroom as they directly affect your day to day life.
